Letters: Teddy Bear charity says thank you

I would like to publicly thank the News-Press for selecting the Teddy Bear Cancer Foundation as a recipient of the 2005 Annual Holiday Fund Drive. We were honored to have been chosen, as there are myriad other equally deserving nonprofits in Santa Barbara.
The News-Press stories, which focused on families we assist, not only gave a voice to some very special individuals, they served to educate the community about the realities of childhood cancer. The Foundation has received a windfall of support as a result of the paper's recognition, and we are extremely appreciative.
We extend a special note of gratitude to Wendy McCaw and Joe Cole for this wonderful opportunity. The Teddy Bear Cancer Foundation depends on community support, and our growth allows us to expand our services and better assist local families facing a monumental challenge.
