EMOTIONAL SUPPORT
PROGRAM
"Help for the Heart"
TBCF provides professional and peer support to the entire family, including parents, the child in treatment, and siblings to ease emotional hardship.
All the below programs are open to any TBCF family in need, however, priority is given to newer families due to venue or staff capacity.
“Bear” Necessities
Items for families such as furniture, appliances, clothing, bedding, and hospital care packages are provided to families in need.
*Please Note: TBCF does their best to acquire donated items from the community to fulfill these requests. Items not guaranteed, as we do not have a budget for this program and rely solely on gifted in-kind donations from the community.
Family Connection Events
Family Fun Days, trips for children and their families, and holiday parties are created to offer a safe environment for families to gain support from and connect with one another.
Care for the Caregivers
Allows parents and guardians to build a sense of camaraderie and engage in self-care. Events such as Mother’s Spa Day provide rest and rejuvenation for the caregivers of children with cancer.
Project Holiday
Families of children in treatment can participate in Project Holiday to receive Christmas gifts, Easter baskets, Thanksgiving dinners, Valentine’s Day cards, grocery vouchers, and more! All items are provided by donors and delivered to the families’ home or child’s treatment location. We rely on the recommendations of social workers for these programs. *Limited Space: Project Christmas (due to capacity)
